Wiersig, Arthur (19 OCT 1910 – 7 MAR 1969)

Arthur Wiersig, 58, Colby, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, Saturday, March 7, 1969, of an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 11, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, and burial was made in Colby Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. David Pankow officiated. Funeral arrangements were made by Lulloff Funeral Home.

Mr. Wiersig was born in Colby Oct. 19, 1910, and lived his entire life in the Colby area. He married Erna Stock June 25, 1936 at Zion Lutheran Church. Following his marriage, he operated an ice route and also farmed south of Colby six and a half years. Since 1945 he has been connected with Wiersig and Dins Feed Mill.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Colby.

Survivors, besides his wife, include four children, Richard of Waukesha, Ruth Ann (Mrs. Ronald Schoelzel) of Curtiss, Janice (Mrs. Jackie Shortt) of Merrill, and Connie (Mrs. Larry Raatz) of Colby; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond of Two Rivers, Leonard of Kenosha, and Donald of Byron, Texas, and two sisters, Eveline (Mrs. Norman Kobs) of Colby and Erna (Mrs. Leslie Johnson) of Greenwood.

He is also survived by his mother, Amelia Wiersig of Colby.
