Amacher, Bruce (31 OCT 1940 - 29 JAN 2016)

Bruce Amacher, age 75, of Owen, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at his home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Pastor Teri Hanson will officiate. Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in the Town of Hixon. Family and friends are welcome from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.

Bruce was born on October 31, 1940 in Stetsonville on the family farm to Fred and Grace (Bockin) Amacher. They moved in 1944 to the town of Longwood to farm and raise their family.

He graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1956. Bruce met the love of his life, Elizabeth "Betty" Mech from Stanley and they married on June 25, 1966 and moved to Owen. Bruce and Betty were married for 47 years. Betty preceded him in death in 2013.

Bruce and Betty raised two sons, Brian and Scott. He worked as an auto-mechanic for Town and Country garage in Owen, WI for 45 years. Bruce loved to bowl, snowmobile, camp, going to casinos, looking at classic cars and of course, watching the Packers. He loved to have a good time with friends and family and was always known for his witty and humorous personality.

Bruce is survived by his two sons: Brian (Kari) of Faribault, MN and Scott (Heidi) of Hawthorne; four grandchildren: Marisa, Joshua, Grace and Jacob. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Grace, his wife, Betty; two brothers, Russell and Ronald.
