Nelson, Florence L. (Stibbe) (6 MAR 1942 - 30 JAN 2016)

Florence L. Nelson, age 73, of Medford, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, WI. At Florence's request, there will be a private service for the family held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Holway.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements.

Florence was born on March 6, 1942, the daughter of Orville and Myrtle (Degner) Stibbe. She was united in marriage to Richard Nelson on August 7, 1965 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Holway.

Florence helped out on her parent’s farm, before she met Richard. She was a stay at home mom, took care of cleaning Our Saviour's Lutheran Church for many years and babysat for her grandchildren and others. Later on, she worked for Medford Cafe, for about five years.

Florence enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, camping, feeding and watching the birds and spending time with her family.

Florence is survived by her husband, Richard of Medford; three children: Rick (Mary) Nelson of Rib Lake, Rhonda Nelson for Medford, and Kevin (Amy) Nelson of Medford; and 6 grandchildren: Ash (Elyse), Nik (Emily), Jenna, Jamie (Derrick Neitzel), Chase, and Brandi. She will also be missed by her two dogs, Panda and Buddy.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
