Ver Hagen, Miss (11 April 1959)

On Saturday, April 11, 1959 Miss Ver Hagen, Antioch, Illinois, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ver Hagen, Lake Villa, Ill., became the bride of Ronald Kitzhaber, Gurnee, Ill., son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kitzhaber, Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, at a 3:00 p.m. service in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Antioch, Ill. Rev. Father Henderson, pastor, officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white hand clipped lace gown styled with a Basque bodice fashioned with a jewel trimmed neckline. A bottom duster flounce, highlighted her bouffant skirt that fell into a chapel length sweep. A matching pearl and sequin headpiece held a silk illusion veil. She carried a cluster bouquet of red and white roses.

Miss Virginia Ver Hagen, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, wore a lace gown over blue taffeta and carried a bouquet of blue and white carnations. Sally Nebel, cousin of the bride, as bridesmaid, wore a lace gown over taffeta and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations.

The groom was attended by Tom Stiefvater, his nephew, Greenwood, and James Nebel, cousin of the bride. The ushers were Bernard Kitzhaber and Harold Steltenpohl.

Mary Kay Steltenpohl, cousin of the bride, was flower girl, and Bobby Suda, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

A reception was held at the VFW Hall at Lake Villa and a dinner at 6:00 p.m. was served to 125 people and was followed by a dance.

The bride is a 1958 graduate of the Antioch Township High School and is employed at the First National Bank at Antioch. The groom is a 1954 graduate of the Greenwood High School and is employed at American Motors, Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Those from here who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Kitzhaber, Mrs. Greg Rogillio, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kitzhaber. Others who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Klapatauskas, Willard; Mr. and Mrs. Wally Brey, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Cornwell, Marshfield and Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Kitzhaber and daughter, Mosinee.
