Shortville (30 Jan 1919)

Mr. and Mrs. George Allbaugh spent Sunday with Walter Bell and family.

Mrs. H.W. Linton returned from the Eau Claire hospital Thursday and Mrs. Matousek returned Monday. Both are getting along fine.

Myrtle Ottow is working for Mrs. Linton.

Elmer Frantz was a Sunday visitor at his home in Neillsville.

Earl Conlin, who enlisted in the navy, was here on a short furlough for a visit with his mother. He returned to New York Saturday.

A party was held at Hagie’s on Wednesday night in honor of Mrs. Hagie’s son, Earl.

Floyd Hagie, who is at Camp Hancock, has been in the hospital with the flu, but has recovered.

M. Skoda took his little daughter, Julia, to the Rochester hospital for treatment last week.

Clarence Irish is on the sick list.

Ernest Kleinschmidt came up from Evansville Monday for a visit with the home folks. He is recovering from a severe case of pneumonia, following influenza.

T.M. Winters went to Evansville Thursday in response to the news that Mrs. Winters was seriously ill with pneumonia at the F. Wall home. He returned on Monday, leaving her getting along well.

The Wall family has recovered from the flu.
