Kloth, Richard A. “Dick” (21 NOV 1957 - 14 AUG 2010)

Richard A. “Dick” Kloth, age 52, of N2552 County Road C, Medford, passed away on Saturday, August 14, at his residence.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 18 at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford, with Rev. James Babler officiating. Interment will be at Medford Evergreen II Cemetery, Medford where full military honors will be performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Ross, Carl Ziehlke, Galen Raasch, Russ, Duane and Jerry Dassow, Mark Hrdina and Glen Steen.

Visitation will be at 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 17 at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford and also from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 18 at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford.

Richard was born November 21, 1957 in Marshfield, WI, to Alvin M. and Rose “Rosie” M. (Tom) Kloth.

He attended Gad, Fairfield and Clearview Elementary Schools and was a graduate of Medford High School.

After High School Richard worked at Weathershield in Medford as an assembler for about 4-5 years. He then owned and operated his own truck through Dart Transportation out of Minneapolis where he was a long haul truck driver until he joined the U.S. Navy in 1986. He was stationed on the largest aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Carl Vinson. Richard also served in the Gulf War being stationed at China Lake, California as a part of the support group for the jet airplanes. He was honorably discharged on July 20, 1990 and reenlisted on July 21, 1990 and then honorably discharged on June 30, 1994. Richard reached rank of Aviation Fire Control Technician Petty Officer Second Class. While in the service he received many medals such as the Good Conduct Award on July 21, 1990. After his time in the military Richard worked as a truck driver for various companies in the area for a number of years. He then started employment at Tombstone Pizza in Medford where he operated a forklift and most recently in the office on the loading dock until the time of his death. He enjoyed Truck Pulling with his brothers. Richard also enjoyed water skiing, camping, hunting, antique cars and the Packers.

He was a member of Klossner-Dietzler VFW Post #5729 Medford, Lifetime Member of the National Rifle Association, Moonlight Snow-Kats Snowmobile Club where he served as past president and the Stump-Jumpers Snowmobile Club.

He is survived by his parents, Alvin M. and Rose “Rosie” M. Kloth (Tom) Kloth; siblings, Ann (Allen) McNamar, Mike (Linda) Kloth and Jim (Janine) Kloth all of Medford; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many Friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial’s can be made to Richard’s family to be designated at a later date
