Patterson, Jack A. (1 DEC 1953 - 14 MAR 2016)

Jack A. Patterson, age 62, of 415 E. Pine Street, City of Medford, died on Monday, March 14 at Aspirus Medford Hospital, emergency room where he was taken earlier by ambulance.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 18 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford where there will also be military rites performed by the Stetsonville American Legion Post #519, Rev. Dan Esterline will officiate. Interment of his cremated remains will take place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II at a later date.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 17 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford and also from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Friday, March 18.

Jack was born on December 1, 1953 at Medford, to Donald Wicker and Vivian (Lohnis) Patterson.

He attended Medford elementary schools and was a 1972 graduate of Medford Senior High School. He attended the Medford Branch Campus for a period of time.

Jack was married on June 28, 1975, at the United Methodist Church, Medford to Linda L. Fryklund. She survives.

After his education he worked at Weather Shield Mfg. in Medford for a period of time. In 1976, he joined the US Navy serving until 1996 while residing in FL, Iceland, IL, SC & Mississippi which he was very proud of. After retirement from the military they returned to Medford where he worked at K-Mart for a short period of time, then K & B Refrigeration until his retirement in January of 2016. He enjoyed golfing, bowling & socializing with family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion Post #519, Stetsonville where he was presently Adjutant; Medford Area Community Theatre where he was currently serving on the board of directors.

Jack is survived by his wife, Linda L. Patterson of Medford, children Stacey (Matthew) Sias of Eau Claire, Dana (Andrew) Hopkins of Weston, Jessie (Travis Schilling) Patterson of Medford, Magga (Jeff) Netzer of Medford, Laura (Douglas) Johnson of Rice Lake, Kyle (Amalia) Patterson of Gilching, Germany, Jacqui Patterson of Eau Claire; 13 grandchildren; siblings Donna Cochran of Medford, Chad Patterson of Omaha, NB, Lanna Fanning of Wisconsin Rapids, twin sister Jill Hernandez of Menasha; mother-in-law, Effie Fryklund of Medford.

He is predeceased by his parents, Donald Wicker and Vivian (Lohnis) Patterson; sister, Mavis Donaldson in 1995.
