Poehnelt, Renee Marie (5 SEP 1970)

At 1:00 p.m., September 5, 1970 wedding vows were exchanged between Renee Marie Poehnelt, 9314 Edmonton Road, Greenbelt, Maryland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Poehnelt, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), and Russell Dixon Lebkicker, 6639 Adrian Street, New Carrollton, Maryland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Lebkicker, New Carrollton, Maryland.

The ceremony took place at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The ceremony as performed by Rev. Norbert E. King. The bride was given in marriage by her father, and music was provided by St. Anthony’s Church Choir, with Michael Tucker at the organ.

The bride was lovely in a floor length gown of white Chantilly lace. The high waisted gown featured a scooped neck and full sleeves, edged in lace of dainty grape clusters. She wore a short mantilla of matching lace.

Her bouquet was a cascade consisting of white gardenias and yellow roses.

Her maid of honor was Miss Patricia Poehnelt, Loyal, and bridesmaids were Miss Taffe Mann, New Carrollton, Maryland, and Mrs. Sandy Snyder, Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania.

Miss Darla Poehnelt, Loyal, was the bride’s flower girl.

The maid of honor, bridesmaids, and flower girl wore gowns of baby blue Morrie taffeta. They each carried a bouquet of blue and white daisies.

Best man was Charles Lebkicker, New Carrollton, Maryland, and groomsmen were Duane and Dean Poehnelt, both of Loyal.

Jerome Poehnelt, Loyal, and Laverne Volovsek, Madison, served as ushers.

Following the Nuptial Mass a reception was held at the Spencer Village Hall, and supper at St. Anthony’s Church Hall.

The bride is a 1967 graduate of Loyal Public High School and is employed at Weaver Brose., Inc., Washington, D.C. The groom is a 1966 graduate of Duval High School and is employed as a repairman for the C & P Telephone Company in Washington, D.C.

After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, the couple will make their home in Greenbelt, Maryland.
