Schmidt, Virjean Carol (Viegut) (9 JUL 1929 - 12 MAR 2016)
Virjean Carol Schmidt, 86, of Sussex, died Saturday, March 12, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Arnold Schmidt. Visitation was Thursday, March 17 at Peace Lutheran, W240 N6165 Maple Ave. in Sussex from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Burial was on Friday at Wisconsin Memorial Park at 10 a.m.
Loving mother of Jane (the late Bryan) Anderson of Sussex, Bonita (Del) Schwartz of Spooner and Cynthia Thompson of Sussex.
Proud grandma of 11, great-grandma of 16. Survivors include sisters, Jacqueline, Carol, Marjorie, Janet, Arylce and Lolita; brothers, Darrell, Gerald and Allen.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five siblings, Georgette, Carita, Donna, Joan, and Marvin.
Virjean was born on July 9, 1929 in Colby, to the late Emil and Marjorie Viegut. She grew up in Medford where they farmed. On October 5, 1946, she married the late Arnold J. Schmidt in Medford.
They resided in Medford and then moved to Brookfield in the 1950s were they both worked at Lambrecht Chicken Farm most of their lives until they moved to Sussex. Virjean was a talented, crafty woman. She loved sewing, embroidering and working with wood. She will be missed.
Her family would like to thank the nurses at Vitas Hospice Care, Wauwatosa, for all their compassionate care.
