Heindl, Clemence “Clem” M. (17 APR 1924 - 12 MAY 2016)

Clemence “Clem” M. Heindl, age 92, of 1080 County Road E, Medford, passed away on Thursday, May 12, at his residence in the Town of Little Black.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 16, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, with Fr. Peter Manckam officiating. Interment will be at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Clem’s grandsons, Todd Heindl, Jacob, Randy and Karl Ploeckelman, Brian, Kevin, Loren and Lee Bartnik.

Visitation will be at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester from 9 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, May 16 where there will be a 9 AM Catholic Rosary Service held that morning.

Clem was born on April 17, 1924, in the Township of Mayville, Clark County, to H. Martin and Theresa (Dessl) Heindl.

He received his education at St. Louis Catholic School, Dorchester.

On August 17, 1948, at East Bristol, WI, he married Margaret Marcella Mayr. She preceded him in death February 14, 2011.

Farmed in the Town of Mayville for many years until his retirement and moved to the Town of Little Black. He was honored as Clark County Farmer of the Year. He served as a director for the Dorchester Co-op and Cloverhill Co-op for periods of time.

He enjoyed bird watching, making firewood, animals, hunting and gardening. Clem was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester.

Clem is survived by his children, Jerome (Sally) Heindl of Colby, Cheryl (Jim) Ploeckelman of Stetsonville, Teresa “Teri” (Richard) Bartnik of Abbotsford; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents, H. Martin and Theresa (Dessl) Heindl; children Ruben in 2003 and 2 children in infancy; and 9 brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to the family for a future designation.
