Southeast Weston (27 Feb 1919)

The flu has again come into our community. Some of the members of the Ernest Campbell, C.C. Kroll and Robt. Jacob families are sick with it.

Daniel Turville helped W.E. Steinhaus chop wood last Friday.

John Marquardt, who recently hurt his foot, is able to be out again.

Miss Ella Zickert visited school last Wednesday afternoon.

Miss Bernice Irvine and Miss Helen Ripke spent the weekend in Loyal.

Richard Turville was home over Sunday.

Miss Fanny Appleyard visited Mrs. Walter E. Steinhaus Sunday afternoon.

Little Hilda Dolasse is on the sick list.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dahnert and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Dahnert spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Wilke and family.

Guy Kraemer and family moved onto the Hoesley place, recently purchased by Imig Bros., this week.

Will Imig, who has been suffering with eczema, is better.

A thrift club was organized in our community Feb. 12. The following officers were elected: Mrs. Arthur Imig, Pres., Miss Hannah Turville, Sec-Treas., and Mrs. Arthur Imig, Miss Hannah Turville and Miss Bernice Irvine, program committee. The membership list is now being circulated among those who were not present that evening and very few have refused to join it.

A piano tuner, sent out by Sears, Roebuck & Co., tuned Wilke’s piano last week Friday.
