Mr. and Mrs. Ellis C. Maxcy of 31 Marlborough Road, North Haven, Connecticut, announce the engagement of their daughter, Cynthia Steward, to Bernard George Stiefvater, son of Mr. Gregory W. Rogillio, of Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, and the late Mr. George S. Stiefvater.

Miss Maxcy attended Centenary College for Women, Hackettstown, New Jersey, and received her B.S. degree in 1962 from Columbia University, New York City. At present she is on the staff of Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, Texas.

Mr. Stiefvater is an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin, where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. Following graduation, he spent two years in the Army at Ft. Lewis, Washington. In 1959 he joined the Crown Zellerbach Corporation in San Francisco and is currently employed at their Dallas branch.

A winter wedding is planned.
