Holub, Vladimer “Ladd” (2 May 1906 - 16 July 1954)

Ladd Holub, 48, Neillsville, Rt. 2, died Friday, July 16, 1954, at the Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, from complications following surgery.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 19, from the Bergemann Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating. Interment was in the Dells Dam Cemetery in the Town of Levis.

Mr. Holub, a resident of Clark County for 41 years, was born May 2, 1906, in Chicago to Joseph and Freida (Karela) Holub Sr. When he was a small boy the family moved to a farm in the Town of Levis, where he received is elementary education.

On June 30, 1928, he was married to Kathryn Meier in Chicago and they made their home in the Town of Levis. Mrs. Holub died Dec. 7, 1946.

Ladd was assessor for the Town of Levis for 12 years and also was a member of the AAA committee for a number of years. He served as emergency fire warden in the Town of Levis. He was a member of the local Moose Lodge.

Mr. Holub is survived by a daughter, Lorraine; his mother, Mrs. Freida Holub; brothers: Joseph and George of the Town of Washburn, Irvin and Edward of the Town of Levis; one sister, Mrs. Fred (Lillian) McCarty, Town of Levis.

Pallbearers were George Bryan, Herbert Filitz, Louis Finder, Louis Lautenbach, Frank Matousek and Guy Schultz.

H. Randolph Briggs sand two hymns accompanied by Mrs. Robert Peters at the piano.

Out -of-town relatives and friends attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Morris Paulsen and Mrs. Tom Paulsen, San Pierre, Ind.; Mrs. Frances Karela and Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Karela, Brookfield, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Mathews, Humbird; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Meier, Alma Center; Mrs. Kurt Schoenherr and sons, Columbus; Albert Meier, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Horton, Merrillan; Phillip Schultz and Edward Shramek, Humbird.
