Strzok, Michael (? - 27 June1974)

A 75 year old rural Thorp man died last Thursday, June 27, when he was killed in a pasture by an 1800 pound Holstein bull he owned.

Dead was Michael Strzok, who according to Clark County Sheriff David Bertz, was “going to check on a hay field and was walking through a pasture” when the bull allegedly attacked him.

The body was found by relatives shortly after 3:00 p.m. and they reported that no animals were in the body’s vicinity.

Death, according to Bertz, was attributed to a crushed chest. Strzok also received severe injuries to his arms, believed to be caused by the animal’s pawing or hoofing at the downed victim.

Sheriff Bertz related that the bull, when brought to the barn, had blood stains on its front legs.

The Strozk farm is located three and one-half miles northeast of Thorp.
