Students were given special awards in athletics at the Athletic Banquet held April 20, at Granton. Rich Bartsch was given the Scholastic-athlete award. Dave Garbisch received the Most Valuable basketball player and track awards. Mike Schultz was given the award for baseball, and Slavco Hanuszcak for cross country.

Kindergarten registration was held at Granton on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week. Assisting in the project wwere Mrs. Merle Bartsch and Mrs. David Anderson, and Mrs. Mortvedt and Mrs. Wayne Booth of Chili. Russell Bartsch and Steven Winkler from this immediate area were registered.

The New York Homemakers met at the home of Bonnie Langreck for their April meeting on Thursday evening, April 22. Interesting places to visit during the summer was the topic discussed, along with routine business.

Rich Bartsch entered St. Joseph's Hospital Monday afternoon, where he is scheduled for surgery on a knee, which was injured during the basketball season.

The Spring Concert of the music department was held at Graton High School on Sunday afternoon, April 25. Taking part were the three bands, the chorus and several selections by smaller groups. The director is Mr. Schramm.

The Annual Band banquet will be held at the school on May 4. The speaker will be a member of the Eau Claire University faculty.
