Antoinette Jean Mnichowicz was born on December 31, 1936 in Polley, Wis., to Anthony J. and Ann (Pawlik) Mnichowicz Sr.
She was raised on the family farm in Lublin and received her education at area schools. After completing her education, Antoinette lived with her uncle for a short time, working at his resort.
