Burger, Jeanne M. (Hughes) (22 JUN 1953 - 9 MAY 2016)

Jeanne M. Burger, 62, of Stetsonville, formerly of Wausau, died Monday, May 9, 2016 at Aspirus Care and Rehab in Medford.

She was born June 22, 1953 in Marshfield, daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Franz) Hughes. On December 14, 1990, she married Thomas Burger in Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2002.

Jeanne was a 1971 graduate of Marathon High School and furthered her education, earning an Associate Degree in Marketing from Northcentral Technical College, Wausau. She worked for several area businesses, most recently at the former Tony Roma's restaurant in Kronenwetter.

Among her favorite pastimes, she loved to bake, read and flower gardening.

Survivors include three sisters, Mary (Edward) Bargender, Wausau, Nancy (Norbert) Weiler, Medford and Margaret "Peggy" Bargender, Portage; special friend, Kathleen (Dan) Hauer, Wausau; two aunts, Genevieve Plant and Helen Goetsch, both of Wausau; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Tom, she was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy "Dotty" Hughes; and an infant brother, Kenneth.

A private graveside service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
