Wootos, Malinda Victoria (Flink) (30 DEC 1919 - 15 OCT 2016)

Malinda Victoria Wootos, 96, passed away peacefully at her home in Chicago on October 15, 2016.

Linda was born in Unity on December 30, 1919 and was the daughter of August and Elsie (Peterson) Flink. She was a 1937 graduate of Unity High School.

As a young woman Linda moved to Chicago and made that her home. She married the love of her life, Peter M. Wootos on October 16, 1942. Together the co-owned Peter-Lin's restaurant in Lagrange, IL. She was a server in many Chicago establishments and retired from Mayor's Row Restaurant on State Street. The couple loved to travel and dance together.

Wootos was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Peter Wootos on June 3, 2003. She was also predeceased by her parents and siblings Lorraine (Gladys), Neva (Kenneth) Binning, Loretta (Warren) Fuller, Walter (Gertrude), Beatrice (Frank) Obernberger, Conrad (Irene), Alice (Bernard) Tesmer, and Elroy Flink.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a special friend and neighbor, James Petrone.

A Memorial Service will be held for Linda and Pete at First United Church of Christ in Colby, on Saturday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m.

The funeral service is to be officiated by Pastor Teri Hanson. Interment will follow at the Unity Lutheran Cemetery.
