LaRoche, Eileen Marie (Kenney) (11 MAY 1920 - 13 NOV 2016)

Eileen Marie LaRoche, 96, Wausau, died Sunday, November 13, 2016 at her home, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

She was born May 11, 1920 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Florence J. and Alvina M. (Hefter) Kenney. The family moved to Medford where she graduated from Medford High School in 1938. On July 13, 1942, she married Leonard LaRoche Sr. in Pine City, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2000.

Among her favorite pastimes, Eileen enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and playing cards with her card club, of which she was the last surviving member. She enjoyed participating in many activities at St. Michael's Parish and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Following her husband's retirement, they traveled together to many countries, including Germany, Italy, Greece, France, Russia, Mexico and Canada.

Eileen is survived by two sons, Lenny LaRoche, Wausau and Mike (Gia) LaRoche, South Milwaukee; one daughter, Marcie (Dave) Baerenwald, Rothschild; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Straub, Jenny (fiancé Frank Harb) LaRoche, Randie LaRoche, Brad LaRoche, Ronan LaRoche, Genevieve LaRoche and Tristan LaRoche; step-granddaughter, Amanda (Jason) Haling; two step-great-grandaughters, Neena (fiance' Ezra Kossel) Staszak and Aryana Haling; one brother, James (Eileen) Kenney, Medford; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Eileen was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilmer Kenney, Roy Kenney and Eugene Kenney; and an infant son, Leonard LaRoche.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Schaller will preside. Entombment will be in the Holy Angels Mausoleum at St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
