Peter, Henry (28 JAN 1904 – 28 APR 1969)

Henry Peter, 507 Butternut Street, Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.), died at the age of 65 Monday night at 11:30 at the Heritage Nursing Home, Schofield. He was a resident there for two weeks after being hospitalized at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

The body will lie in state beginning Thursday noon at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford. It will be taken to Christ Lutheran Church Friday noon and services will be held there at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. F.H. Sprengler officiating. Interment will be made in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Henry Peter was born at Gomben, Poland January 28, 1904. At the age of seven he came to the United States with his parents. His marriage to Frieda Weinke took place June 2, 1926 in the Lutheran Church, town of Stettin.

They farmed in Marathon and Taylor counties and the past five and one-half year made their home in Abbotsford.

He is survived by his wife and three children: Mrs. Eugene (Adeline0 Fiedler of Two Rivers; Alfred peter of Marathon City, and Mrs. Leonard (Elaine) Gumz, route 1, Colby. There are 11 grandchildren.

He also has three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Arthur (Mary) Baehr of Dorchester; Mrs. George (Betty) Krish of Woodruff, and Mrs. Adolph (Olga) Nerrmeyer; William and Michael Peter, all of Chicago.

His parents preceded him in death.
