Vlach, Erma M. (Frank) (14 OCT 1915 - 10 NOV 2013)

Erma M. Vlach, age 98, of 650 Pearl Street, Rib Lake, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the Golden Living Center, Rib Lake where she had resided for the past 5 years and under the care of Aseracare Hospice.

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 14, 2013 St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Rib Lake, WI, with Rev. James Heffner officiating. Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake.

Erma’s Grandchildren will be the pallbearers.

Visitation will take place at 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 14 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Rib Lake, WI.

She was born on October 14, 1915 in Rib Lake, to Ferdinand and Edna (Gerstberger) Frank.

Erma attended Fawn Valley and Ward Graded Schools and was a 1934 graduate of Rib Lake High School.

She was married at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church to Fred Vlach on September 5, 1936. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1982.

Erma worked for Gem Products for 30 years until her retirement in 1977. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, baking, arts, crafts, gardening and attending birthday parties. She was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, and a past member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, Rib Lake.

She is survived by her children, Janet Kane of Greendale; and Diane E. (Eugene) Zabrowski of Milwaukee; 12 grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; and 2 great great great grandchildren.

Erma is also survived by her siblings, Lucella Formella of Sturgeon Bay; Donna Sauer of Rib Lake; and Leo Frank of Big Spring, Texas.

She is predeceased by her parents, Ferdinand and Edna (Gerstberger) Frank; 2 daughters, Shelby Brandner; and Carol Vlach; 1 granddaughter, Sharron Brandner; and 1 son-in-law, Charles Kane; siblings Ervin Frank; and Isabel Bleck.

Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake is assisting the family with arrangements.
