Buchholz, Viola Jane (22 February 1934 – 15 November 2016)

Viola Buchholz, 82, of Neillsville died Nov. 15, 2016, at the Stoney River Memory Care Center in Marshfield.

Viola Jane Free was born Feb. 22, 1934, in Neillsville, the daughter of Herbert and Inger (Searls) Free. She was a life-long resident of Clark County, as she grew up in the Town of York and attended Loyal schools. She married Richard Earl Buchholz Nov. 1, 1952, at the York Center Methodist Church. They lived in the Christie area and farmed on the Buchholz family farm. In later years, she worked at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville before retiring.

Viola was a member of the York Center United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being part of the Ladies Aid and Weston Homemakers. Her favorite things to do were sewing and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Earl Buchholz, four children: Roger (Joan), Dennis (Judy), Randy and Becky, all of Neillsville; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son Fredrick, her parents, two sisters and a brother.

A Memorial Service for Viola was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at the York Center United Methodist Church. Pastor Patsy Roe officiated. Music was provided by Sheri Molloch. Interment will be in the Marie Louise Chapel Cemetery later. Visitation was from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
