Kops, Lester G. (2 APR 1910 – 18 MAY 1969)

Funeral services for Lester George Kops, 59, of Colby, were held Wednesday, May 21 at 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church at Colby.

Mr. Kops died early Sunday morning, May 18, 1969, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

The Rev. David Pankow officiated at the services, and interment was made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

The Lulloff Funeral Home of Colby was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Kops was born in Unity, April 2, 1910. He received his education in Unity schools, and after his marriage to the former Lillian Widmer on April 23, 1930. The couple farmed in the Granton area for a few years. They then moved to the home farm in the town of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.), just north of Unity, and farmed there until 1960. Since then, they have lived in the town of Hull in marathon County.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Colby.

He is survived by his wife and three sons, Gerald and Leroy of Unity, and Richard of Route 2, Colby. There are thirteen grandchildren. Two sisters also survive, Elsie Willmare and Odelia Kurth. They are both of Plainfield..
