Sunderlin, Ruth E. (Dallman) (14 JAN 1915 - 12 MAY 2013)

Ruth E. Sunderlin, age 98, of Country Gardens Assisted Living, Medford, a former Rib Lake area resident, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Country Gardens Assisted Living, Medford, where she had resided for the past 1 year.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, May 17 at United Methodist Church, Rib Lake, with Rev. Kyochul Shin officiating.

Interment of her cremated remains will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake.

Visitation will be at the United Methodist Church, Rib Lake from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Friday, May 17.

Ruth was born on January 14, 1915 at Fairfax, MN, to Fred and Anna (Falk) Dallman.

She was educated at Riplinger, WI elementary schools and attended Unity, WI High School.

On April 21, 1931 at Neillsville, WI, Ruth married Ernest Sunderlin. He preceded her in death Dec. 6, 2001.

After her marriage, they resided in Riplinger, Oshkosh, and in 1946 moved to Rib Lake. They owned and operated a plumbing, heating, and bottle gas business for a period of time. They built the Rib Lake Laundry Matt. She also worked at the Rib Lake Shoe Factory and clerked at the IGA Grocery Store. They moved to Horseshoe Bend, AR in 1975, residing there until moving into Country Gardens in Medford 1 year ago. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, bowling, skating & had her private pilot’s license, enjoying flying. She was an artist, taking lessons from Joe O’Brein.

Ruth was a member of the United Methodist Churches of Rib Lake & Horseshoe Bend, AR; and the Flying Farmers Flying Club of AR where she served as Queen for 2 years.

She is survived by her children, Beatrice “Bea” Klemm of Medford; Nancy Baar of Lakeside, CA; Phyllis (Robert) Jester of Fort Mohave, AZ; William “Bill” (Judy) Sunderlin of Fargo, ND; 18 grandchildren; 30 great great grandchildren; 31 great great grandchildren; a sister Lucille Brier of Milwaukee.

Ruth is predeceased by her husband, Ernest Sunderlin; parents Fred and Anna (Falk) Dallman;
Son Robert “Bob” Sunderlin in 1958; siblings Lena Dreier; Erna Stromberg; Dora Schultz; Lydia Hardrath; Frieda Wellman; Carl and Victor Dallman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Hope Hospice of Medford.
