Brueggeman, Lucille J. (Krueger) (4 JUN 1933 - 6 OCT 2011)

Lucille J. Brueggeman, 78, Athens, formerly of Wausau, died Thursday, October 6, 2011 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Hospice House, Wausau.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau. The Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside.

Friends may call Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of services all at the funeral home.

She was born June 4, 1933 in Wausau, daughter of the late Oscar and Dora (Kufahl) Krueger. On February 21, 1953 she married Raymond Brueggeman in Madison. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2002.

Lucille enjoyed knitting, crocheting, craft projects and watching the birds. She also liked watching the Green Bay Packers, an occasional trip to the casino and especially time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include six children, Sherry (Mark) Wolffer, Lockport, N.Y., Cathy (Bill) Bandock, Wausau, Rose (Bill) Heier, Wausau, Steven Brueggeman, Plymouth, MN., Lisa Giese, Marathon and Amy (Dale) Dahlke, Edgar; 15 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, Raymond, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle, brothers, Eldon, Edward, Robert and George and sisters, Jeanette, Marie, Doris and Victoria.

A memorial fund is being established.
