Kohl, Elizabeth A. "Bette" (Riehle) (15 APR 1932* - 16 MAY 2010)

Elizabeth A. "Bette" Kohl, Athens died Sunday, May 16, 2010 under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice at the House of Dove, Marshfield.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Very Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.

For more than 40 years Elizabeth and her late husband Leslie Sr. farmed in the town of Halsey. Some of her favorite pastimes included gardening, tending to her flower gardens, cooking, being a homemaker, fishing, card playing and watching the Green Bay Packers but most of all Bette cherished the time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Marion (Darrel) Dehlinger, Sandra (Randy) Decker and Stephanie (Merlin) Switlick all of Athens, Brenda (Brian) Paul, Dorchester and Leslie (Christina) Kohl Jr., Edgar, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. Elizabeth was expecting two more great grandchildren in the near future.

She is further survived by her siblings, Mary Jane Seliger, Edgar, Merceda (Lea) Smart, Abbotsford, Donald Riehle, Rib Falls, LeRoy (Doreen) Riehle, Clem Riehle, Abbotsford and Leonard (Karen) Riehle Jr., Colby, along with many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Loretta Drewek, Wilfred Riehle and Joseph Handrick.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Anthony Catholic School.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens is in charge of arrangements.
