Schreier, Johanna (Rajek) (15 APR 1914 - 12 NOV 2010)

Johanna Schreier, 96, Edgar, died Friday November 12, 2010 at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

A private funeral mass will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

She was born April 15, 1914 in Marathon, daughter of the late Frank Sr. and Alvina (Henke) Rajek. On January 17, 1939, she married Michael Schreier at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death January 13, 1969.

Johanna and her late husband, Michael farmed in the town of Cassel until the time of his death in 1969. She moved to Edgar in 1976 and was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Edgar and their Parish Council of Catholic Women.

A true homemaker at heart, Johanna loved cooking, baking, canning, sewing and craftwork. A favorite of family, neighbors and friends was the headcheese she made from scratch. She will be remembered for always thinking of everyone ahead of herself and for always making sure that any visitor to her home was fed.

Survivors include her children, Georgia Ann Schreier, Edgar, Joanne (Jeffery) Wichlacz, Auburndale, Marie Schreier, Edgar, George (Arlene) Schreier, Edgar, six grandchildren, Alan (Cindy) Schreier, Anthony (Joss) Schreier, Karen (Scott) Cisewski, Joe (Joanne) Schreier, Jeffery Wichlacz, Kenneth (Kerri) Wichlacz, six great grandchildren, David, Kristin, Jeremy Schreier; Jordyn, Dominick and Delaney Wichlacz, one sister, Dolores Lewitzke, Wausau.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Frank Jr., Edward, Evelyn Kage, Edna Schreier and Lorraine Erdman.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, is in charge of arrangements.
