White, Lillian Jennie (Redman) Thorgerson (26 AUG 1924 - * FEB 2017)

Lillian Jennie White, 92, of Jump River, died peacefully at her son’s home, under the care of Hope Hospice.

She was born on August 26, 1924 in Guttenberg, Iowa the daughter of the late Levi and Jennie (Bedward) Redman.

The family moved to Donald, Wisconsin and she went to Donald grade school, Hannibal High School and went on to the Normal Teachers College in Medford.

Lillian married Jake Thorgerson on April 16, 1945. The couple farmed and raised their children south of Jump River. Jake died in 1980.

Lillian later married Vernon White who died soon after.

Lillian continued her education with a bachelor’s degree from UW-Eau Claire. She taught at Wood Prairie rural school-teaching all 8 grades. Lillian taught in the Gilman School District for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Tri-County Retired Teachers, the Jump River Ladies Aid, the Red Hats of Gilman and the Quilting Guild.

She is survived by her children, Ted (Marge) Thorgerson, Joe (Mary) Thorgerson and Lois (Jerry) Shufelt all of Jump River, 8 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Lillian is preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, 4 brothers, Clifford, Larry, Marion and Cal Redman and two sisters, Geneva Turek and Harriet in infancy.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Jump River Community Center.

Visitation will be from 10AM until time of service. Interment will take place at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in the spring.

Plombon Funeral Service-Gilman assisted the family.
