The Granton Volunteer Fire Department was kept busy last Monday evening with calls in the country. First a bad chimney fire was brought under control at the Rudolph Sternitzky home on Route 1, Granton. They had just returned when a garage fire at Harry Kuehn's, R. 2, Granton, called them out again about 10:30 p.m. However, the fire was beyond control, so the garage burned to the ground, but other buildings were protected by the firemen.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Sternitzky were dinner and supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Eberhardt, Neillsville, on New Year's Day.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Trimberger and Elaine Trimberger, Menasha, spent Wednesday through Friday the past week visiting at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Dale Trimberger, Poy Sippi. Their son Joel returned with them for a week's visit at the home of his grandparents.

Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Krause on New Year's Eve were Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hillert.
