Kress, Ann Marie (20 AUG 1924 - 5 MAY 2017)

Ann Marie Kress, 92, passed away Friday May 5, 2017 at Asprius Care and Rehab in Medford.

Ann was born August 20, 1924 in Athens, WI to Benedict and Minna (Metzung) Kress.

She is survived by her Sisters: Rita (Robert “Lefty”) Woelfel of Park Falls, Leona (Gene) Gebert of Medford, Nieces and Nephews: Jackie Ziehlke of Medford, Beck (Tom Bowder) Brost of Medford, Cindy (John Oberle) Gebert of Eau Claire, Jeanne (Giovanni) Woelfel of Wausau, Heidi (Neil) Woelfel of Hubertus, Dave (Nancy) Ziehlke, Paul (Kim) Ziehlke, Pete (Mary) Ziehlke all of Medford, Scott Gebert of Weston, Roger Gebert of Medford, Chuck (Lisa) Woelfel of Wausau, Chris (Kelly) Woelfel of Houston, TX, 21 Great Nieces and Nephews, 14 Great Great Nieces and Nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, a sister Helen Ziehlke, and a brother-in-law Jack Ziehlke.

Ann worked as a Housekeep for the Superior Diocese at the Cathedral Rectory in Superior, Holy Rosary Rectory in Medford and St. Patrick’s Rectory in Minocqua. She was accomplished in needle point and embroidery, of which her family would receive many items she would make. She enjoyed researching her family history and genealogy, and collecting dolls of all kinds.
She was of the Catholic faith, and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Ann was very fond of saying the Rosary.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday May 11, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Father Phil Juza and Deacon Joe Stefancin will officiate. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary service will begin at 9:45 AM at Holy Rosary Church with visitation to follow until the time of services.

Memorial donations in honor of Ann can be given to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with arrangements.
