Castner, Martha (14 JUN 1880 – 17 JUL 1972)

Martha Castner, 92, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died July 17, 1972 at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20 at the United Methodist Church, Loyal, with the Rev. Bernie Scott officiating. The body will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Roycraft Funeral Home, Loyal.

Martha (Davis) Castner was born June 14, 11880 in York Township (Clark Co., Wis.), and received her education in Clark County rural schools. She was married in Loyal on July 5, 1905 to Alfred Castner, who preceded her in death. After their marriage, they lived in Hazelhurst, and then moved to Loyal. Her husband was a painter and general store manager, and taught school. She worked taking care of aged people in the home near and in Loyal.

Martha Castner was a member of United Methodist Church of Loyal and was a 50 years member of Royal Neighbors.

Martha Castner is survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, who died in 1937, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
