Trunk, Bonnie Lynn (1 DEC 1941 – 14 MAY 2017)

Bonnie Lynn (Leksen) Trunk, 75, passed from this life Sunday, May 14, 2017, in Illinois,, with her children close by. Graveside services are to be held at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, May 28th at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery in Thorp (Clark Co.), Wisconsin.

Bonnie was born December 1, 1941, in Grand Rapids (Minnesota) Hospital, to Jennie and Harold Leksen. (Harold died in Bonnie's infancy, and Jennie later married Loren Wilson.) While her grade school and middle school years were spent in Bovey Elementary and Junior High, she took her Senior High years in Grand Rapids, enjoying being a cheerleader for the Indians.

Bonnie met her husband, Russell Trunk, while both were students at the University of Minnesota. Russell's work as an executive for Green Giant, Pillsbury and Stokely Foods took them to many locations in the country, including Southern Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, Washington state, Florida, and the Rio Grande Valley of southern Texas. They welcomed five children over the years, and added many friends from coast to coast. After retirement, they built their beautiful lakeside home in rural Wisconsin. It was their joy to tend the lush gardens and walkways that Russ designed so well.

After 51 years of marriage, Russ preceded Bonnie in death in 2014. Their daughter, Stephanie, passed away in 2007. Bonnie is survived by daughters: Suzanne (Bob) Krusinski, Channahon, Illinois, and Rachel Christy (Gregg) Watts, Denton, Texas; sons Tony Trunk, Dallas, Texas, and Benn Truck, Denver, Colorado. Eleven grandchildren have graced the family. Bonnies is also survived by one sister, Wanda (Leksen) Decker of Benbrook Texas, and many cousins, Nieces and nephews, and close friends from the Midwest to the gulf and west coast. We all will miss her.
