Mr. Robert L. Hmircik “Bob”, age 94, passed away on May 12, 2017. He was born on November 4, 1922 in Hartford, Wisconsin to Ludwig and Anna (Fritche) Hmircik.

Bob was a member of the 150th Army Band and his love of music continued to carry over throughout his life. Later Bob was the proud leader of his band called, Bob Stevens And His Orchestra. He traveled with the band throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest, playing in Michigan and Illinois to name a few. Bobs’ Orchestra played at the Milwaukee Home shows, American Motor Show (at the Milwaukee County Stadium), March of Dimes program on WTMJ, and more. He was an accomplished musician and band leader, who played the clarinet, saxophone, organ and piano. Bob owned a record company, ERRO, and worked with many people and fellow musicians. Some of the people he played for included Jack Benny and Ingrid Bergman, during his time with the 150th Army Band overseas. Patti Page and Paul Anka were also singers Bob Stevens and His Orchestra played for.

Bob was involved in organ/piano sales for many years at different companies, later owning his own church organ sales business. One of Bob and Janice’s very favorite memories was the trip they took to Italy to visit the Galanti family and the Ahlborn-Galanti Organ Company. Bob was a very proud WWII veteran and was a member of the Cedarburg American Legion Post. He was also able to participate in the Honor Flight and absolutely loved it!

Bob and his wife Janice started their married life in Milwaukee, with moves to Wauwatosa, Menomonee Falls, moving then to Cedarburg in 1964 and remained living there until 1990. Bob had a love of healthy living, which included running daily. They lived in 2 more places before they later moved to Medford, Wisconsin in 2005, where they had property and fulfilled a dream of theirs building a lake home when they were in their early 80’s. They resided there until 2013, relocating to Grafton, WI, at The Providence Place. Bob lived a wonderful life filled with music and laughter and the love of family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
