Bentzler, Patricia Ann (28 OCT 1972)

Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard, Wis., was the setting for the wedding October 28, 1072 of Miss Patricia Ann Bentzler, Oshkosh, daughter of Mrs. Jeanette Bentzler of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and Harold Bentzler Sr. of Loyal, and Jerald A. Sowis, Oshkosh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer T. Sowis of Oshkosh.

Father Michael J. Mertens performed the 2 p.m. double ring ceremony. Mrs. Henry (Ann) Lamovec was the organist, and Mrs. Tom Horn was the soloist.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, approached the altar wearing a gown of Alencon lace, accented with seed pearls and stand-up collard, modified bishop sleeves and bodice which comes to the natural waist. Her skirt was of Layada over taffeta, accented with tiers of Alencon lace down the center to forma redingote effect. Her train veil was of matching lace and was secured to a cap of matching fabric to complement the gown. Her bouquet consisted of yellow mums and rose buds.

Her attendants, Miss Jeanette Lawvery, the maid of honor, Miss Carol A. Bentzler, both of Madison, Mrs. Janet Dauschak and Mrs. Judith Lamkau, both from Oshkosh, bridesmaids, and Miss Lori Aumann, Loyal, as flower girl, wore crepe dresses with overskirts of print Sari and silk.

They carried one long stem yellow rose.

John Maxwell was best man, and Joseph Lamkau, Douglas, Dauschak, Oshkosh, Richard Sowis, Madison, were groomsmen, with Harry Bentzler, Greenwood, as ring bearer, and Henry Aumann Jr., Loyal, Steven, Sowis, Oshkosh, as ushers, completed the wedding party.

A reception and dinner followed the ceremony at the Star Lodge Motel, Loyal.

Mrs. Sowis is a 1967 graduate of Loyal High School and a 1972 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, and is employed as a teacher at St. Joseph's School, DePere, Wisconsin.

Her husband is a 1965 graduate of Oshkosh High, and a 1969 graduate of Oshkosh Technical School, and is employed by the Lennon Candles, Inc., Oshkosh, as a draftsman.

The newlyweds are residing at 905 Washington, Oshkosh.
