Dale Lee Goodwin was born on July 9, 1951, in Watertown, to Edward and Ida (nee Elpert) Goodwin. In 1956 his family moved to Colby, and then to Loyal, where he received his education and graduated from Loyal High School in 1969. Dale was drafted into the U.S. Army on Jan. 26, 1971, and served until his honorable discharge on Jan. 16, 1973. He returned to Loyal and went to work at Smith Feed’s and married the love of his life, Cathi Spuhler, on Jan. 18, 1974. Dale later worked for Dolly Madison in Eau Clare, and was in charge of the Marshfield route. In 1979, he went to work driving truck for Roehl Transport and retired in July 2016 after 36 years of service. He had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his family and friends, camping, boating, tinkering, and collecting tractors and artifacts.

Darrow, Samantha Jolee Goodwin, and Devan Lee Goodwin; one great-granddaughter: Brooklyn J. Darrow; his sister: Janis (Allen) Miller of Loyal; his sister-in-law: Theresa Goodwin of Colby; two brothers-in-law: Michael (Sharon) Spuhler of Loyal, and Jack (Barb) Spuhler of Thorp; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
