Herdrich, Dorothy V. (16 MAR 1935 – 5 JUN 2017)

Dorothy V. Herdrich, 82, Altoona, formerly of Loyal, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017, at her residence. A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Eau Claire. Rev. Brahm Semmler Smith officiated.

Dorothy Capelle was born to Phillip and Martha (nee Bladow) Capelle on March 16, 1935, at the home farm in the township of Loyal, Clark County. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. She was very active in music at church and also at school. She graduated from Loyal High School on May 19, 1953, and then moved to Marshfield and worked in a ladies ready-to-wear store. On June 25, 1954, Dorothy married Bob Herdrich at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. They lived in Loyal until 1961, when they moved to Eau Claire. Bob worked as a State Farm agent, and Dorothy was the offi ce and business manager until they retired in 1998. Dorothy enjoyed traveling, camping, and visiting their cabin in Idaho.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; a brother, Delmer Capelle; two sons: Jeff (Pam) Herdrich and Rick (Gretchen) Herdrich; her grandsons: Adam (Meredith) Herdrich and Ryan (Stephanie) Herdrich; three great-grandchildren: William, Ana, and Matthew; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s name to Luther Park Bible Camp in Chetek.
