Hamel, Mr./Mrs. Courtland (Gold – 10 NOV 1968)

Mr. and Mrs. Courtland Hamel, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, November 10, 1968 by having a family dinner.

They were married November 10, 1918 at Menomonee, Michigan while bells were ringing and whistles blowing, marking the signing of the armistice and end of World War I.

The couple have seven children and twenty-two grandchildren. All seven children and many of their families were with them on this celebrated occasion.

Among those attending the dinner were Virginia of Milwaukee; Mrs. Harlan (Verle) Brown and Naomi and Martha of Equor, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hamel, Alice, Keith and Scott, Lafayette, Indiana; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hamel, Clinton and Darlene, Withee; Mr. and Mrs. H. (Violet) Hendrickson, San Leandro, California; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hamel, Kenneth, Benjamin, Christine, Warren and Gregory, Watertown; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hamel, Sandra, Steven, Douglas and Sharon, Wooddale, Illinois; and also Mr. and Mrs. Royalle Hamel, Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Al Nelson, Mahlon Hamel and Mabel Baker of Arpin.

The anniversary dinner was served by the Doicas Sisters of the Adventist Church, Withee, where Mr. and Mrs. Hamel are members. The Redville Homemakers, of which Mrs. Hamel is a member, gave a dinner in their honor at their home on Monday evening, November 18th.

The couple have the best wishes of their many friends in the Owen and Withee are for continued good health and many years of continued happiness and companionship.
