Dickert, Viola B. (Kapfhamer) (17 SEP 1925 - 13 JUL 2017)

Viola B. Dickert passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2017. A memorial service will be held on Aug.14, followed by interment with her husband, Bill at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.

She was predeceased in death by her husband, William in 2001; and eldest daughter, Theresa Quarto in 2010.

Viola is survived by children, Kathleen Moran of Holiday, Fla., Janet Dickert of Hilham Tenn., William Jr, of Hudson, Fla., Edward (Lauren) of Mountainside, N.J. and Phyllis (Richard) Taylor of Whitleyville Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Leona (Jack) Steinmetz.

Viola was born in Medford on Sept. 17, 1925, the daughter of the late John and Martha Kapfhamer. Before moving to New Jersey, she resided in Milwaukee and Chicago prior to meeting her future husband, William, in Chicago in 1944. They stayed in touch, and married in 1947, eventually settling and raising a family in Hawthorne, N.J. Viola was a parishioner of St. Anthony RC Church in Hawthorne.

Throughout her life, she held various jobs, primarily working full time for Yardley of London in the 60’s and 70’s. She also operated a school bus prior to her retirement in 1980. In her spare time, she belonged to bowling leagues, and was an avid player of Bingo, mostly enjoying the comradery of the games. Viola loved her annual family vacations in Wisconsin where she thoroughly enjoyed spending time visiting with her eight brothers and sisters and their families, Albert (Evelyn), John (Cedes), Andrew (Berta), Marie (Matt) Lewandowski, Helen (Orlando) Goessl, Otillia (Arthur) Mittenzwei, Gertrude (Everett) Boltz and Leona.

Viola will be dearly missed by her family, who will always keep her in their thoughts and prayers. Godspeed Viola on your journey to Heaven.
