Hamm, Mildred C. (Neitzel) (15 JAN 1920 - 12 AUG 2017)

Mildred C. Hamm, age 97, of Owen, formerly of Curtiss, went to be with God on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at the Clark County Rehab and Living Center in Owen where she had resided since Jan. 2017.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Curtiss. Rev. Ken Schmidt presided. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery, rural Curtiss. Family and friends were welcome from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday for visitation. Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford was entrusted with the arrangements.

Mildred was born on Jan. 15, 1920, in the township of Holway, the daughter of Charles and Caroline (Ried) Neitzel. She attended Golden Willow School in the town of Holway. Mildred married Frank J. Hamm on July 22, 1938, in Medford. She was a devoted housewife and a hard working farmer.

Mildred enjoyed embroidery, quilting, reading and she loved Christmas. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Mildred was a member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and the Altar Guild.

Mildred is survived by her two sons, Arlan Hamm of Thorp and Gary (June) Hamm of Curtiss; her daughter, Donna (Dewey) Schmidt of Stanley; grandchildren, Sherry Looker, Jeff and Lois Fischer, Julie Fink and John Stemper, David and Reshell Fischer, Kris Schmidt, Janet Bell, Ken and Sarah Schmidt; and great-grandchildren, Christy (Juan), Brittany, Caroline, Mary, Ryan, Rachel, Nia, Kailey, Liberty, Brinley, Grace, Isabelle, Everly and Vincent. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Annabelle Neitzel; and many nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; daughter, Judy; nine siblings and many relatives.
