Schopfer, Judie Carla (9 AUG 1969)

The Wesley United Methodist Church, Marshfield, was the site of the 7 p.m. candlelight ceremony that united Miss Julie Carla Schopfer and Mr. Paul David Jacks on August 9, 1969. The Rev. Wesley Dafoe officiated and the ceremony, and Maldon Plank was the organist, with Mrs. Frank C. Beisel the soloist. All are from Marshfield.

When the bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schopfer, route 2, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), was given away by her father, she was wearing a floor length bridal gown of peau d' ange lace, fashioned with long tapered sleeves and a jewel neckline framed by a delicate ruffle. The empire silhouette was highlighted by a train sweeping to chapel length.

Her bouffant veil of sheer bridal illusion was secured to a cluster of organza roses centered on a circlet of lace petals, and she carried a formal cascade of yellow and white pixie carnations, centered by yellow sweetheart roses along with ivy and white ribbons.

Attendants of the bride were Mrs. Ginger Marcott, route 1, Curtiss, matron of honor, and Miss Barbara Blanke, Marshfield, bridesmaid. They wore floor length empire styled dresses of crepe in maize, fashioned with baby doll sleeves and a bateau neckline. A band of velvet ribbon decorated the empire silhouette and the sleeves. Harmonizing veils were secured to a floral drape. They carried yellow and white Starburst pompons and ivy in a cascade arrangement.

Dean Marcott, route 1, Curtiss, was the best man, and Thomas Beranek of La Crosse was the groomsman. James Milula and John Folz, Marshfield, were the ushers.

Following the church ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Jacks greeted their wedding guests at a reception and dinner held at the Hotel Charles. Here, Irma Miller served the cake, Mary Pape served the punch, and Marge Hamm took care of the guest book.

The wedding rehearsal dinner was served at Mr. Andy's Supper Club on Friday evening.

After a wedding trip to Las Vegas and a tour of the west, the newlyweds will reside in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Mrs. Jacks is a 1964 graduate of Owen-Withee High School and a 1968 graduate of Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire. She has been employed as a medical technologist at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Mr. Jacks, the son of Mr. and Mrs. K.L. Jack of Pineland, Texas, is a 1962 graduate of West Sabine High School, Pineland, and attended Stephen F. Austin College, where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. Since then he has been employed as a heavy equipment operator on the Pipeline Construction.
