Dumke, Clarence E. (29 OCT 1909 – JUL 1983)

Owen– Clarence E. Dumke, 74, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 5 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield of injuries suffered in a farm accident shortly after 8 a.m. June 27, 1983. Death was due to a neck injury.

Investigators learned that he and other family members were unloading hay bales into a barn and at least one bale fell and struck him on the head, causing a fracture of the neck. He was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Longwood. The Rev. Samuel Kochel will officiated, with burial in Riverside Cemetery at Withee.

Visitation at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, and until service time Saturday.

He was born October 29, 1909 in Waseca, Minn., to Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick (Bertha Hiller) Dumke. He married Delores Dulek June 30, 1944 in Stanley. They farmed in the Town of Worden (Clark Co.), rural Stanley, until 1958, and then farmed in the Town of Green Grove, rural Owen, for the past 25 years.

A member of the Associated Milk Producers Inc., and Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Mr. Dumke is survived by his wife; three sons, Clarence Jr. of Oshkosh, Larry of Owen, and Dennis of Withee; one brother, Walter of Owen; and three grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Darlene Schreiner, November 10, 1982, four brothers and two sisters.
