Paulsen, JoAnn L. (15 MAR 1943 – 31 AUG 2017)

JoAnn L. Paulson, age 74, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley, WI. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Thorp Funeral Home in Thorp, with Rev. Daniel Vang officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, rural Thorp. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday
From 9 a.m. until time of service.

JoAnn Laurine Paulsen was born March 15, 1943 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Laurence J. and Mary J. (Troz) Paulsen. She was raised and received her education in St. Paul, graduating from Harding High School in 1962 with honors. Her summers were spent north of Thorp on the farm homesteaded by her grandparents, Daniel and Katherine Troz. After completing high school, , JoAnn attended the University of Minnesota for some time. JoAnn moved to Thorp in 1971 to be near her mother.

She was a member of the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church. JoAnn was an accomplished classical ballet dancer and artist in her youth. She loved her plants, animals, pet chickens and farm life.

She will be dearly missed by one daughter, Leah Paulsen-Austin of Maplewood, MN; two step-grandchildren, Brianna Austin and Andrew Treichel, both of Minnesota; two step-great-grandchildren, Elliott Kosloski and Zayn Treichel; many cousins, other relatives and friends.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Alan R. Paulson.
