Drescher, Charlotte Mary (6 November 1937 – 13 September 2017)

Charlotte Drescher, age 79, of Neillsville, WI died Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, WI.


Charlotte Mary Covell was born on November 6, 1937, in Neillsville, WI the daughter of Allen and Marie (Woelffer) Covell. She attended Neillsville public schools, graduating in 1955. She then attended the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Char worked as an operator at Northwestern Bell in Minneapolis for one year and then on June 8, 1957, she was united in marriage to Robert A. Drescher at the Congregational Church in Neillsville. She then worked for many years as a certified nursing assistant at the Memorial Medical Center, for the Clark County Nursing Service, and later in private home health care.


Char was a member of the United Methodist Church in Neillsville and Granton. She served as the church organist from 1980, and was an officer on the Memorial Medical Center Guild. She was a member of the Eastern Star Society. Char took over running the Miss Clark County Pageant from Phyllis Conrad and organized that event for many years. In retirement, she was a very active volunteer for the Memorial Medical Center.
She is survived by four children, James Drescher of Neillsville, Paul (Annette) Drescher of Neillsville, WI, Mary (Joel) Grohman of Wausau, WI and Karyn (Joseph) Wajda of Altoona, WI and, two grandchildren, Robert and Jackson Wajda.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents and a brother William.


Funeral Services for Charlotte will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 18, 2017, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Sally Rendell will officiate. Interment will be in the Town of Grant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.


Casket Bearers are: Jim Ringler, Larry Marshall, Steve Lezotte, Jason Lezotte, Chris Lezotte and Allen Drescher.
