Ploof, Julia C. (Wear) (30 JUN 1926 - 9 SEP 2017)

Julia C. Ploof, 91, Phillips, died on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips, with her family at her side.

She was born on June 30, 1926, in Harlan, Iowa, the daughter of Carl L. and Eva (Tague) Wear. She attended school in Prentice, Eau Claire and St. Louis, Missouri. She was employed by Wisconsin Telephone Co., for 15 years.

She was married to Raymond Ploof on November 23, 1946. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2008. They celebrated 63 years of marriage.

She was an active member of the Ogema Baptist Church, the Ogema Area Development Council, and the Ogema Historical Society. She was very active in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great and great-great children, instilling in them a love for the Lord, for their church as well as their families. In her free time she enjoyed fishing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, teaching Sunday School Classes, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her 3 children: Joyce Rae (Duane) Lind, Phillips, David Carl (Christine) New Berlin, WI, Raymond, Jr. “Skip” Ogema, by 15 grandchildren, 41 Great Grandchildren, 10 Great-Great Grandchildren, and by 2 sisters: Patricia Crawley, Independence, Mo., and Colleen Combs, Republic, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Raymond, Jan. 5, 2008, and by 1 brother: Carl Wear, Jr.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017, a 3:00 P.M. at the Ogema Baptist Church, Ogema, with Pastor Rodney Price officiating. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Ogema.

Friends may call on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at the Ogema Baptist Church, Ogema, from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.

A memorial fund has been established for youth-reaching missions.

The Heindl funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
