Lewin, Arthur W. (16 MAY 1893 – 21 APR 1970)

(Obit says he died on April 21 and was buried on April 14. Burial must have been April 24)

Arthur William Lewin, 76, passed away April 21, 1970 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, after a short illness. Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Thorp, on Friday, April 24th. Reverend R.W. Olson officiated at the 10:00 a.m. service. Burial was made at Fremont, Wisconsin.

Pallbearers were members of the American Legion Post 118 of Thorp: Herman Doge, Ed and Tom Polnaszek, John Lato, John Szemraj, Harry Smith and Joe Benzschawel, the flag bearer.

Mr. Lewin, a farmer, was born May 16, 1893 at Readfield, Wisconsin, Waupaca County.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ed (Esther) Fredrick of Withee, Mrs. Winnie Christorf of Chippewa Falls, and Mrs. Elmer (Ada) Vetterkind of Thorp, also 20 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Ruth, and one brother, Herb.
