Wilson, Violet A. () (2 JUL 1921 - 5 OCT 2017)

Violet A. Wilson, 96, died Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Colonial Center, Colby. She was born July 2, 1921, in Milladore, daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Valiska) Wilson.

Violet graduated from Athens High School in 1940 and then attended Marathon County Normal School followed by the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point graduating in 1953 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She worked as an elementary teacher in the Athens and Marshfield area for 43 years and was active in various church activities at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Over the years she had many fond memories of the children she loved to teach. Family close to her often were invited to gather at her home to attend the Athens fair.

Survivors include the many cousins and extended family that had the pleasure of knowing Violet during her life.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday October 14, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens is in charge of the arrangements.
