Barbara Jean Bangle was born on August 27, 1944, in Dyersburg, TN, to Alvin J. and Margaret F. (Smedegard) Bangle. As a young child, Barbara's family moved to Owen, WI, where she was raised and educated. She graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1963 and later attended Beautician's College, earning her Beautician's Certificate. She worked in a beauty shop in Owen for a number of years before moving to Thorp in 1982. While raising her three daughters, she also worked at the Thorp Head Start, as a baker at Pabich's Supermarket, and was a cook at a local day care center until her retirement.

Her interests included sewing, gardening, rock collecting, blackberry picking, and hikes with her family at Copper Falls and Wildcat Mound. But she especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by three daughters: Michelle DeLong of Thorp, Monica (Mike) Gulcynski of Stanley, and Karen (Jay) Dobson of Mondovi; three grandchildren: Maria Gulcynski, Steven Dobson, and Nolan Dobson; one I brother, James C. Bangle of Medford; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends, including her dear friend, Lavonne Mason, who was always there to provide her with love and support.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
