Scholarship Honors Area Farm Couple (Mr./Mrs. Harry King - 2018)
A new scholarship for Neillsville High School students has been established in
honor of longtime area dairy farmers Esther and Harry King.
A new scholarship has been opened to honor a longtime area farm couple.
Clark County Community Foundation leaders announced last week the establishment
of the Harry and Esther King Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide financial
assistance to Neillsville High School students. Preference will be given to
students interested in agriculture or education.
The Kings purchased a Neillsville-area dairy farm in 1952 and farmed there while
raising their family.
King family members said through the foundation that farming always was closest
to the couple’s hearts. Education always was a priority for them and their
children.
The annual $250 scholarship is meant to encourage and support area youth while
honoring the Kings’ values.
Applications for the scholarship are available at www.clarkccf.org or through
the Neillsville High School guidance office.
