White, Anna K. (Demerath) (26 AUG 1904 - 9 MAY 1999)

Anna K. White, 94, of Stetsonville, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Colonial Center Nursing Home in Colby where she had resided for one month.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 12, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with Rev. Dennis Meulemans officiating.

Burial was held in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Pallbearers were John Fleischmann, Dave Spencer, Pat Gazda, and Brian, Kurt and Steve Robida.

Visitation and a Rosary service were held at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford.

The former Anna K. Demerath was born August 26, 1904, in Medford to the late Peter and Barbara (Georg) Demerath. She attended Holy Rosary Parochial School and graduated from Medford High School and Taylor County Normal School. Her marriage to Richard G. White took place on July 9, 1935, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1990.

She taught elementary education in rural Taylor County schools for many years. She later taught at Holy Rosary Catholic Church until her retirement. Her hobbies were knitting and crocheting.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a former member of Our Ladies of Holy Rosary and of GUG Germania. She also had served as secretary of the Medford Catholic Knights for a number of years.

Survivors include a son, Grant (Cathy) White of Plover; three sisters, Barbara (Robert) Gauerke of Wausau, Betty (Tony) Fleischmann of Stetsonville and Nancy (James) Ortlieb of Dorchester; four sisters-in-law, Anna Paulson and Irene Stelzel, both of Stetsonville, and Beulah Metz and Verna White, both of Medford; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes White and Elizabeth Gallistel, and a brother, Edward Demerath.
