Clark, Robert “Bob” (20 JUN 1943 - 3 MAR 2018)

Robert “Bob” Clark, 74, of Abbotsford, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Aspirus Care and Rehab Center in Medford.

Bob was born June 20, 1943, in Mauston, to the late Malcolm and Elizabeth Clark. In 1961, at the age of 18, Bob went to live and work on the farm of Fred and Emilie Mantik near Milan. In 1968 the farm was sold to Jerry and Carol Mantik, where Bob continued to live and was part of the family for the next 50 years.

Bob milked cows and helped with daily farm chores until the cows were sold in Oct. 2001, at which time he retired from his farm duties and eventually started attending classes three days a week in Wausau at North Central Health Care Adult Day Services. In his younger years, Bob was a member of the Hillcrest Dairy bowling and softball teams, where he competed very well. A day’s work on the farm would rarely keep him from riding his bicycle the three miles from the farm to Milan nearly every summer evening to watch Little League, Junior League, and men’s and women’s softball games. Bob also enjoyed going to local high school sporting events, was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and loved being around family activities.

Bob will be missed by Carol Mantik; her children, Terry, Rocky, Peggy, Pam, Penny, Gloria and Kim; and all the grandchildren.

Bob is survived by, and will also be missed by, his sisters, Sharon (Joseph) Ives of Briggsville and June (Alden) Fessey of Wonewoc; a brother, James Clark of Wonewoc; a nephew, Joseph (Kelly) Fessey; a niece, Rita Fessey; and great-nephews, Aiden, Shawn and Keegan of Mauston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Elizabeth Clark; a sister, Clara Clark; and Jerald Mantik.

A memorial service and celebration of Bob’s life with close family and friends was held on Saturday, March 10, at First Baptist Church in Medford.
